Useful to all of us – whether in our musical lives, work and other professional endeavors, or day-to-day personal goals – is a principle called Parkinson’s Law.
In a 1955 article in The Economist, C. Northcote Parkinson stated that:
“Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.”
Musician or not, regardless of what line of work you may be in, or what your life goals and bucket list items are, I believe that every single one of us can benefit from occasionally (or often) thinking about how this can relate to (and be valuable in) our own lives.
We can get far more done in far less time!
I just posted on the topic over on Medium.com and invite you to give it a read, consider how YOU might apply Parkinson’s Law, and then comment and share about it.
